A skin is the look of a snake during gameplay. Some skins can only be obtained by using Extensions, but those skins can only be seen by other players with the same extension as you. There are 66 different skins in slither.io, and you no longer need to share to access them.

Formerly, you could not pick a skin until you shared, and if you did not share, you would automatically get randomly assigned one of the Default Skins when you clicked the 'Play' button. Note that you could simply click them, and go back to the page without logging in, and then choose your skin.

These skins were previously obtained through sharing the game on Facebook or Twitter. You can now customize them by clicking the Change Skin button in the bottom left corner.

Custom Skins[]

Slither.io has a feature called Build a Slither, in which the player can create their own custom skin to suit their wishes. You have 47 (but you can't always see all of them) customizable spaces, and 38 colors to choose from. Since its creation, it has become immensely popular, and many players have created their own unique skins to identify themselves.
